Summary |
This product, Clarinol, active ingredient was discovered 66 years ago, is now found in a variety of body weight management products. It is produced from Linoleic Acid and has some proven benefits. It was designed to reduce body fat by preventing the unwanted accumulation of fat cells through the inhibition of export mechanisms. While decreasing body fat, Clarinol is supposed to maintain lean body mass by improving the body fat-to-muscle ratio through stimulation of enzymes present in muscles. However, it could take anywhere from 8-12 weeks to see results, depending on the levels of storage of certain isomers in tissues and membranes in the body.

 | Sources At A Glance |
Clarinol is source of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a naturally occurring fatty acid commonly found in beef and dairy products. CLA’s unique structure claims to build muscle, burn fat and fight cancer. Though it is found naturally in foods and vitamins, increased dosage is absorbed and metabolized by the body following digestion. Scientific evidence confirms some positive effects of CLA in animals, but no such studies have been proven for humans.

 | Diet Lifestyle: |
This product may be effective with the conjunction of a healthy diet and participation in regular exercise. Intake of CLA through typical eating habits is much lower these days, based on modern dieting choices. Some supplemental ingredients can increase levels of CLA to reach its maximum benefit. It is advised that Clarinol be incorporated into a weight management system in which weight lifting and aerobics are combined.

 | Sources In Focus |
CLA is a derivative of the essential fatty acid – linoleic acid. CLA affects enzymes and reduces the rate at which the body deposits fat, while increasing lean tissue formation to boost metabolism. Aside from its weight management capabilities, studies have shown that this nutrient may provide health benefits for such health concerns as immunity, arteriosclerosis, allergies and asthma, and possibly even various types of cancer, however it may have a negative impact on heart disease and diabetes.
 | Positives |
• Positive testimonials are available
• Natural source of fatty acids with proven health benefits
• Web site offers lists of diet supplements containing CLA
 | Negatives |
• Scientific benefits only proven in animals
• Should be taken in correlation with a healthy diet and routine exercise
• Does not offer a free trial sample
 | Final Thoughts |
Clarion contains CLA that may increase muscle mass. However, repeated claims stress its efficiency in conjunction with diet and exercise, suggesting the possibility of modest results when taken independently. Although it is proven safe and effective in animals, studies noting its effectiveness in weight management among humans is lacking. In the end we find this product may serve as a basic nutritional aid.
